Job Summary

Highway Surveyor - Road Infrastructure in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Civil Engineering opportunity requiring 8+ years of UAE surveying experience. Supports road, pavement, curb, drainage, utility, and highway construction projects with accurate measurements, setting‑out, control verification, and as‑built documentation.

Location: Dubai, UAE. Salary: 11,000‑17,000 AED per month. Full‑time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform survey work under the guidance of the Senior Highway Surveyor.
  • Establish primary horizontal and vertical control points; document reference ties.
  • Record measurements, rod readings, field calculations, and observations in field books.
  • Coordinate with the contractor’s surveyor on priorities, schedules, site access, and daily requirements.
  • Validate survey work through traverse closures, bench circuits, and accuracy checks.
  • Report discrepancies, errors, technical issues, and conflicts to the Assistant Resident Engineer.
  • Jointly measure completed works or payment items with the contractor and Resident Engineer.
  • Maintain and calibrate survey equipment.
  • Assist in preparing as‑built drawings using verified survey data.
  • Conduct pre‑construction surveys: verify existing conditions, identify obstructions, support design verification.
  • Provide setting‑out support for roads, pavements, curbs, drainage networks, utilities, and grading.
  • Monitor contractor alignment, levels, slopes, grades, and construction layout against approved drawings.
  • Participate in site inspections with the Resident Engineer and client representatives.
  • Maintain organized survey documentation, reports, maps, field records, calculation sheets, and handover information.
  • Support resolution of survey‑related disputes or discrepancies between designs and field execution.
  • Use GPS, total stations, and computer software for accurate measurements and survey outputs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and project safety requirements.
  • Apply UAE local authority procedures, standards, and regulations.
Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of surveying experience in the UAE.
  • Strong experience in highway, road, pavement, drainage, utility, and infrastructure construction projects.
  • Good knowledge of UAE local authority procedures, standards, regulations, and construction requirements.
  • Ability to establish control points, verify levels, conduct traverse closures, and check bench circuits.
  • Skilled in construction layout, staking, setting‑out, joint measurements, and as‑built survey preparation.
  • Proficient in GPS, total stations, survey equipment, and modern computer software.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail; identify survey errors, site discrepancies, and technical issues.
  • Ability to coordinate professionally with contractors, Resident Engineers, Assistant Resident Engineers, and client representatives.
  • Practical awareness of site safety requirements and safe survey operations.
  • Organized, reliable, and able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
