This role is suited for a detail-focused land surveyor who can support major transportation infrastructure works by ensuring accurate site measurements, reliable survey controls, coordinated contractor activity, and compliant project documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform survey work under the direction and guidance of the Senior Highway Surveyor.
- Establish primary horizontal and vertical control points, including reference ties for re-establishing points in the field.
- Record field measurements, rod readings, calculations, and survey observations neatly and accurately in approved field books.
- Coordinate with the contractor's surveyor to agree work priorities, inspection timing, and survey schedules.
- Check survey work by completing traverse closures, bench circuits, level checks, and related verification activities.
- Report discrepancies, technical issues, site conflicts, or measurement concerns to the Assistant Resident Engineer.
- Perform joint measurements of completed works to support progress verification, payment assessment, and project records.
- Maintain survey equipment in proper working condition and carry out frequent calibration checks.
- Support construction supervision activities on expressway, interchange, intersection, and major road infrastructure works.
- Use modern survey instruments, computer software, and digital tools to improve accuracy and efficiency in survey activities.
- Verify alignment, levels, coordinates, and field data against approved drawings, project requirements, and construction standards.
- Maintain organized survey records that support engineering review, contractor coordination, and site progress documentation.
- Assist project teams with field checks required for road works, structures, utility interfaces, and existing Dubai network conditions.
- Coordinate with engineers and site teams to resolve survey-related issues before they affect construction progress or quality.
- Follow site safety procedures and ensure survey activities are carried out responsibly in active construction zones.
Ideal Profile
- Relevant university or college qualification in Civil Engineering, Surveying, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of diploma-level qualification in Civil or Surveying discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in construction and/or supervision.
- Strong construction supervision experience on expressway projects.
- Well experienced in the construction of interchanges and intersections.
- Knowledge of existing networks in the Emirate of Dubai.
- Ability to use modern survey equipment, survey software, and computer-based measurement tools.
- RTA or DM approval is preferred.
- Strong understanding of control points, traverse closures, bench circuits, field books, joint measurements, and survey verification methods.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with contractor surveyors, senior survey teams, resident engineers, and site supervision staff.
- Accurate documentation skills with a disciplined approach to field records, calculations, and measurement logs.
- Practical knowledge of road infrastructure construction, site supervision procedures, and survey quality control.
