Job summary

AlphaMind Group is seeking a Head Waiter for a full-time position in Dubai. You will lead service staff, ensure high-quality guest experiences, and coordinate with kitchen, bar, and host teams to maintain smooth service.

Qualifications

• Experience as Head Waiter, Senior Waiter, Captain or similar in high-volume hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of F&B service standards and guest interaction.
• Ability to lead, coach and supervise service staff.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and attend to guests in a professional, friendly, and attentive manner.
• Ensure guests receive efficient, personalized, and high-quality service throughout their experience.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and ensure they are properly communicated to the kitchen and bar.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and promptly address requests, concerns, or complaints.
• Maintain strong knowledge of the menu, ingredients, allergens, and daily promotions.
• Lead and supervise Waiters, Runners, and other assigned service staff during operations.
• Brief the team before each shift regarding reservations, VIP guests, promotions, menu changes, and operational requirements.
• Coordinate effectively with Kitchen, Bar, Hostess, and other departments to ensure smooth service.
• Handle cash, payments, and POS transactions accurately when required.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service

• Welcome and attend to guests in a professional, friendly, and attentive manner.
• Ensure guests receive efficient, personalized, and high-quality service throughout their experience.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders and ensure they are properly communicated to the kitchen and bar.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and promptly address requests, concerns, or complaints.
• Maintain strong knowledge of the menu, ingredients, allergens, and daily promotions.

Team Supervision

• Lead and supervise Waiters, Runners, and other assigned service staff during operations.
• Brief the team before each shift regarding reservations, VIP guests, promotions, menu changes, and operational requirements.
• Allocate sections and duties according to business needs.
• Monitor staff grooming, punctuality, attendance, and overall performance.
• Coach team members and provide guidance to maintain service standards.
• Support the Restaurant Manager with staff training and performance follow-up.

Operations & Service Standards

• Ensure the assigned section is fully prepared before service.
• Monitor table setup, cleanliness, mise en place, and overall restaurant presentation.
• Coordinate effectively with the Kitchen, Bar, Hostess, and other departments to ensure smooth service.
• Ensure orders are delivered accurately and within expected service times.
• Monitor table turnover while maintaining the quality of guest experience.
• Follow all company policies, food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
• Handle cash, payments, and POS transactions accurately when required.

Administration & Reporting

• Assist the Restaurant Manager with daily operational requirements and reports.
• Communicate operational issues, guest feedback, incidents, and staff concerns to management.
• Ensure proper handover between shifts.
• Monitor and control breakages, wastage, and unnecessary consumption within the assigned section.
• Support stock and inventory checks when required.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Head Waiter, Senior Waiter, Captain, or similar role in a high-volume restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of food and beverage service standards.
• Excellent communication and guest-service skills.
• Good leadership and team-management abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional appearance, positive attitude, and strong attention to detail.
• Good knowledge of POS systems and restaurant operations.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
