Strategic and Academic Leadership

• Develop and implement policies and practices that reflect the school 's vision, educational priorities and commitment to high standards.
• Establish, monitor and evaluate short, medium and long-term development plans.
• Use student performance data to identify underachievement and implement appropriate improvement actions.
• Analyse and interpret school data to inform policies and contribute to departmental and school self-evaluation.
• Ensure relevant schemes of work are developed, implemented, reviewed and evaluated.
• Maintain appropriate curriculum provision for SEN or People of Determination, gifted and talented, and EAL students.
• Contribute to continuous improvement in student achievement and educational provision.

Teaching and Learning

• Ensure appropriate curriculum coverage, continuity and progression for students across the relevant year groups.
• Maintain suitable provision for high-achieving students and those with additional educational needs.
• Establish effective approaches to assessing, recording and reporting student achievement.
• Set clear expectations for teaching quality, student achievement and behaviour.
• Monitor and evaluate teaching and learning to identify effective practice and areas requiring improvement.
• Implement appropriate actions to strengthen teaching quality and student outcomes.

Team Leadership

• Performance manage team members in accordance with the school 's performance management policy.

Resource and Budget Management

• Maintain appropriate oversight of resource and capital expenditure budgets.
• Use available accommodation effectively to create a stimulating environment for teaching and learning.
• Ensure learning spaces are managed in accordance with the school 's Learning Environment Policy.
• Maintain a safe working and learning environment.
• Ensure risks are appropriately assessed and applicable health and safety policies and regulations are followed.

Wider School Responsibilities

• Undertake duties assigned through the staff duty rota.
• Provide appropriate cover for absent colleagues.
• Support examination invigilation when required.
• Contribute to the school 's wider academic and extracurricular activities.
• Undertake other appropriate responsibilities assigned by the Principal.
• Where applicable, serve as an Academic Mentor and Extended Essay Supervisor for Year 12 and Year 13 students.

Qualifications

• Bachelor 's Degree in Education, or a Bachelor of Arts Degree with PGCE in Education or another teaching qualification.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of teaching experience within the English National Curriculum.
• Experience contributing to high standards of teaching and student achievement.
• Ability to lead colleagues and work collaboratively within a school environment.

Muna British Academy is an Aldar Education school in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Established in 2009, the school has maintained an Outstanding ADEK rating since 2015. In August 2025, it relocated to a new campus in the Saadiyat Lagoons community. The school currently serves students from FS1 through Year 8 and plans to extend its educational provision through Year 13.
