Job summary

Aldar Education is seeking an accomplished Head of Secondary - School Leadership to drive academic excellence across Years 7–13 in Abu Dhabi. You will lead curriculum design, assessment standards, and whole-school improvement within a leading international education network.

You will shape policy, mentor senior staff, and ensure high-quality instruction aligned with IB/IGCSE frameworks and ADEK requirements.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Educational Leadership or related field required.
• Minimum 5 years of secondary leadership experience (Assistant Principal/Head of Division).
• Experience in international school environments and curriculum leadership.
• Knowledge of IB, GCSE, and UK curricula frameworks.
• Familiarity with UAE MOE and ADEK regulations.
• Proven ability to lead curriculum development and standards-based assessment; strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the secondary school as a senior member of the leadership team reporting to the Principal.
• Oversee academic, social, and emotional development of students from Years 7 to 13.
• Ensure a safe and secure learning environment that supports student growth and well-being.
• Support strategic planning, policy development, and implementation aligned with school vision and accreditation standards.
• Manage curriculum development, assessment practices, and instructional programmes.
• Oversee operational functions including timetabling, staff deployment, IT systems, and extracurricular programmes.
• Monitor teaching effectiveness and student outcomes using performance data and evaluation systems.
• Supervise staff performance, conduct lesson observations, and support professional development initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, accreditation requirements, and international education standards.
• Build strong communication channels with parents, students, and staff as a key school representative.
• Lead collaboration across leadership teams to ensure efficient school operations and continuous improvement.
• Support implementation of innovative teaching strategies and modern educational practices.
