Job summary

Jex Recruitment seeks an experienced Head of Investments to lead the investment activities of a sophisticated private family office in Dubai. The role requires crafting and executing a unified strategy across public markets, private equity, real estate and credit, while guiding asset allocation and governance.

You will manage external partners, perform thorough due diligence, and mentor an in-house team, reporting to the Principal and Investment Committee in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the family office's overall investment strategy and asset allocation framework.
• Lead investment activity across public markets, private equity, venture capital, real estate, private credit and alternatives.
• Source, assess and execute direct and fund investments.
• Lead financial analysis, valuation, due diligence and investment structuring.
• Prepare and present investment recommendations to Principal and Investment Committee.
• Monitor portfolio performance, risk, liquidity and capital allocation.
• Conduct portfolio reviews and recommend rebalancing or exits.
• Build and maintain relationships with fund managers, banks and co-investors.
• Identify attractive global investment themes, sectors and geographies.
• Negotiate terms and coordinate due diligence across legal/financial aspects.
• Oversee external managers and benchmark performance.
• Develop robust investment reporting, governance and risk frameworks.
• Lead and develop internal investment team as the platform grows.

This is a senior leadership position with responsibility for developing and executing the family's investment strategy, overseeing portfolio construction and asset allocation, evaluating new opportunities, and managing relationships with external investment partners.

The successful candidate will bring strong investment judgement, commercial acumen, and experience managing capital across multiple asset classes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the family office's overall investment strategy and asset allocation framework.
• Lead investment activity across public markets, private equity, venture capital, real estate, private credit and alternative investments.

Candidate Profile

• Significant investment experience gained within a family office or private equity firm.
• Strong track record of evaluating and executing investments.
• Broad understanding of private markets.
• Excellent financial modelling, valuation and commercial due-diligence capabilities.
• Demonstrable experience in portfolio construction, asset allocation and risk management.
• Strong network across the regional and/or international investment community.
• Comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial environment with direct exposure to the Principal.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex investment decisions.
• High levels of discretion, integrity and professional judgement.

Preferred Background

• 10+ years of relevant investment experience, with meaningful experience in a senior investment role.
• Degree in Finance, Economics, Business or a related discipline; CFA, MBA or equivalent qualification advantageous.
• Experience investing across the GCC and international markets would be beneficial.
• Previous family office experience is highly desirable but not essential.
