Job summary

Confidential, a growing F&B group based in Dubai, seeks a seasoned Chief Accountant to own the accounting function across outlets. You will lead a small team, perform hands-on work daily, and conduct spot checks during outlet visits.

You will manage month-end close, consolidation, intercompany accounting, and statutory filings, while ensuring audit readiness and strong internal controls across the group.

Qualifications

• CPA qualification required.
• 5+ years in financial and management accounting.
• Experience leading and supervising an accounting team.
• Hands-on with month-end and year-end close, consolidation and intercompany accounting.

Responsibilities

• Run full set of accounts: GL, payables, receivables, reconciliations.
• Close monthly books and lead year-end close.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements and intercompany balances.
• Forecast cash flow, budgets, variance analysis; explain numbers to management.
• Review and approve journal entries and vouchers; manage petty cash.
• Oversee fixed asset register and depreciation.
• Process payroll entries; ensure UAE Labour Law compliance.
• Coordinate with auditors to ensure audit readiness.
• Support VAT, Corporate Tax and other filings in UAE and abroad.
• Maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies; coach the team.

Job description

We're a growing food & beverage company based in Dubai, running a number of brands and outlets across several companies. We're looking for an experienced Chief Accountant to keep our accounts accurate, on time and audit-ready.

You'll report to the Financial Controller and lead a small team of 3-4 accountants. This is a hands-on role. You'll be in the numbers every day, and also out at our outlets doing spot checks and stock counts.

What you'll be doing

• Running the full set of accounts: general ledger, payables, receivables and reconciliations
• Closing the books every month, and leading the year-end close
• Preparing consolidated financial statements and sorting out intercompany balances across our group companies
• Preparing cash flow forecasts, budgets and variance analysis, and explaining the numbers to management
• Reviewing and approving journal entries and payment vouchers
• Keeping petty cash across all our locations under control
• Looking after the fixed asset register and depreciation
• Posting payroll entries and checking leave salary and end-of-service calculations under UAE Labour Law
• Working with external auditors and making sure our files are always audit-ready
• Supporting the Financial Controller on VAT, Corporate Tax and other tax filings, in the UAE and abroad
• Making sure internal controls and accounting policies are followed everywhere
• Coaching and developing your team

What we're looking for

• A degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA qualified
• At least 5 years in financial and management accounting
• Experience leading and supervising an accounting team
• Hands-on experience with month-end and year-end close, consolidation and intercompany accounting
• Good knowledge of IFRS and UAE Labour Law (end-of-service and leave salary)
• Very strong Excel skills

It's a big plus if you come from restaurants, hospitality, retail or FMCG, have worked with several outlets or companies, use Oracle, SAP or a similar ERP, or have dealt with more than one currency.
