Job summary

Client of RecruitMe Plus is seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to lead the accounting function, supervise a team, and ensure robust financial reporting and internal controls in the UAE.

You will oversee day-to-day operations, oversee month-end/year-end closings, and provide budgeting, forecasting and analysis to management, while ensuring compliance with UAE VAT and Corporate Tax. Oracle proficiency is a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of accounting experience in the UAE.
• Experience leading an accounting team and end-to-end function ownership.
• Strong financial reporting, reconciliation, budgeting and forecasting capabilities.
• In-depth knowledge of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax and internal controls.
• Proficiency with Oracle and Excel; ACCA or CA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the accounting team, allocate tasks, review work and ensure timely delivery.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, general ledger, reconciliations, and month/year-end closings.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports and schedules.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis to support decisions.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT, Corporate Tax and accounting standards.
• Maintain controls, policies and accurate financial records.
• Coordinate audits and respond to documentation/reporting needs.
• Utilize Oracle and Excel to support reporting and processes.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to oversee the accounting function lead a team and ensure accurate financial reporting robust internal controls and compliance with applicable UAE tax requirements The role reports to the Finance Manager and supports management with financial analysis and insights

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the accounting team ensuring effective task allocation review and timely delivery
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations general ledger activities reconciliations and month-end and year-end closing
• Prepare and review financial statements management reports and supporting schedules
• Manage budgeting forecasting and financial analysis to support management decisions
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT Corporate Tax and applicable accounting standards
• Maintain financial controls accounting policies and accurate financial records
• Coordinate internal and external audits and address related documentation and reporting requirements
• Use Oracle and Microsoft Excel to support financial reporting and accounting processes

Working schedule

Normally six days per week eight hours per day some Saturdays may be off depending on work requirements

Qualifications

• 10+ years of accounting experience in the UAE.
• Demonstrated experience leading an accounting team and managing an end-to-end accounting function.
• Strong financial reporting, reconciliation, budgeting, and forecasting capabilities.
• In-depth knowledge of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, accounting principles, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP software; Oracle experience is an advantage.
• ACCA or CA qualification preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
