Job summary

Confidential in Dubai is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to run the finance function and help us grow the right way, reporting to the CFO. This busy, fast-moving role blends accurate books with practical business partnering at our restaurants, hospitality and retail outlets.

You will oversee month-end closes, IFRS reporting, consolidation, budgets, VAT and corporate tax, plus system upgrades like ERP and Power BI, while coaching the finance team and supporting expansion into new markets.

Qualifications

• A degree in Accounting or Finance; professional qualification ACCA, CPA, CA or CMA is required.
• 10+ years in finance with at least 4–5 years as Financial Controller or Finance Manager.
• At least 5 years in restaurants, hospitality or retail with multiple outlets; GCC experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS (incl. IFRS 16), UAE VAT and Corporate Tax.
• Experience consolidating several companies and currencies.
• Strong Excel and financial modelling skills.

Responsibilities

• Run month-end, quarter-end and year-end closes; prepare IFRS accounts for each company and group.
• Handle consolidation, intercompany and multi-currency reporting.
• Produce outlet P&L and monitor food, labour, rent and delivery costs.
• Lead annual budget, forecasts and business cases for new outlets/markets.
• Set up finance for new countries (entities, bank accounts, tax registrations).
• Ensure VAT, Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing and UAE e-invoicing rules compliance.
• Control cash, POS, stock and delivery app settlements.
• Manage cash flow, banks and working capital.
• Collaborate with HR on payroll, gratuity and budgeting.
• Improve ERP, POS and Power BI to reduce manual work; coach the team.

Job description

We're a growing food & beverage company based in Dubai, with a number of brands and outlets across the UAE and plans to expand abroad. We're looking for a hands-on Financial Controller to run our finance function and help us grow the right way.

You’ll report to the CFO. Our business is busy and fast-moving, and margins matter. We need someone who keeps the books accurate and the controls tight, and who also enjoys walking into a restaurant and talking numbers with the people running it.

What you'll be doing

• Running month-end, quarter-end and year-end close, and preparing IFRS accounts for each company and for the group
• Handling consolidation, intercompany and multi-currency reporting
• Producing outlet P&Ls and keeping a close eye on food, labour, rent and delivery costs
• Leading the annual budget and forecasts, and building business cases for new outlets and new markets
• Setting up finance for new countries: entities, bank accounts, tax registrations and franchise accounting
• Keeping us fully compliant on VAT, Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing and the new UAE e-invoicing rules
• Making sure cash, POS, stock and delivery app settlements are properly controlled
• Managing cash flow, banks and working capital
• Working with HR on payroll, gratuity and manning budgets
• Improving our systems (ERP, POS and Power BI) so we spend less time on manual work
• Coaching and growing your team

What we're looking for

• A degree in Accounting or Finance, plus ACCA, CPA, CA or CMA
• 10+ years in finance, with at least 4–5 years as a Financial Controller or Finance Manager
• At least 5 years in restaurants, hospitality or retail with multiple outlets, ideally in the GCC
• Strong knowledge of IFRS (including IFRS 16), UAE VAT and Corporate Tax
• Experience consolidating several companies and currencies
• Strong Excel and financial modelling skills

It's a bonus if you've helped a business open in a new country, worked with franchise models, been through an ERP change or e-invoicing project, have a Big 4 background, or speak Arabic.
