Job summary

Tanqeeb in the United Arab Emirates seeks an experienced Chief Operations Officer (COO) to oversee day-to-day operations across group companies, units, and properties. You will translate strategic objectives into actionable plans and measurable targets.

You will monitor performance, budgets, and workforce, coordinate with finance, HR, procurement, and other functions, and drive SOPs, risk management, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Hospitality, Operations, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive management experience, preferably within a holding company or diversified group.
• Minimum 5 years in a senior operational leadership position.
• Proven experience managing multiple departments, business units, properties, or subsidiaries.
• Strong budgeting, P&L management, manpower planning, procurement, and operational controls.
• Experience in the UAE/GCC market is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of SOP development, KPI management, and performance reporting.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• High integrity, confidentiality, professionalism, and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple group companies, business units, and properties.
• Translate the Group’s strategic objectives into practical operational plans and measurable targets.
• Monitor operational performance, productivity, service standards, costs, and profitability across business units.
• Work closely with business unit heads and department managers to ensure effective execution of operational plans.
• Review manpower requirements, organizational structures, staffing levels, and workforce productivity.
• Monitor budgets, operating expenses, procurement, and resource utilization in coordination with Finance.
• Establish and improve operational policies, procedures, SOPs, controls, and reporting systems.
• Identify operational inefficiencies, risks, and cost-saving opportunities and implement corrective measures.
• Ensure compliance with applicable UAE laws, regulatory requirements, company policies, and internal controls.
• Coordinate with Finance, HR, Procurement, Legal, IT, Engineering, Sales, and other corporate functions.
• Review management reports, KPIs, financial results, operational performance, and business-unit dashboards.
• Conduct regular meetings and performance reviews with business unit leaders.
• Support recruitment, development, performance management, succession planning, and retention of key personnel.
• Manage relationships with major clients, suppliers, contractors, government authorities, and other stakeholders where required.
• Lead operational projects, restructuring initiatives, new business launches, expansions, and improvement programs.
• Ensure effective risk management, business continuity, health and safety, and crisis preparedness.
• Provide regular operational updates, recommendations, and performance reports to the Group CEO / Managing Director.
• Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, teamwork, continuous improvement, and commercial awareness.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Hospitality, Operations, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
