Job summary

Client of Michael Page is seeking a senior governance and compliance leader to oversee KYC, AML, sanctions and ESG strategy enterprise-wide in Dubai. You will lead the Corporate Governance function, partner with Board and executive leadership on risk matters, and drive governance frameworks, board processes, and delegated authority models.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years' experience across corporate governance, compliance, company secretarial, or related functions, including leadership responsibility.
• Strong understanding of corporate governance, statutory compliance, Board governance, and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience overseeing compliance, KYC/AML, sanctions, or risk management activities within a regulated sector.
• Proven track record in ESG strategy, sustainability reporting, and engaging with senior stakeholders including Boards and regulators.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, navigate complex regulatory environments, and balance commercial objectives with governance and risk considerations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Corporate Governance function managing compliance KYC and governance professionals.
• Own and enhance the company’s governance framework, Board processes, committee structures and delegated authority models.
• Provide senior oversight of compliance programmes covering sanctions, AML, KYC, anti-bribery and conduct risk.
• Drive the organisation’s ESG strategy, sustainability reporting, responsible trading initiatives and stakeholder engagement.
• Partner with regulators, auditors, investors, banks and senior leadership to strengthen governance and risk management practices.
• Champion a culture of ethical decision-making and corporate accountability across the organisation driving continuous improvement in governance standards and best practices.
