Qualifications

• Medical practitioner licensed and in good standing.
• 3–5 years post-qualification consultant-level experience.
• At least 1 year of consultant-level experience in a Tier 1 country as per UAE regulator.
• Active and valid life-support certifications (BLS, ACLS) as applicable.
• Experience in managing gastroenterology cases and performing endoscopic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, evaluate, and manage patients with gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, and liver disorders.
• Provide comprehensive consultations, develop treatment plans, and ensure appropriate follow-up care.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures (gastroscopy, colonoscopy) within scope of practice.
• Coordinate care with other medical specialties for complex cases.
• Ensure patient safety, confidentiality, and adherence to clinical guidelines and hospital policies.
• Monitor outcomes, identify risks, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Communicate diagnoses and treatment options clearly to patients and families.
• Participate in audits, peer reviews, and continuing professional development.
• Support and guide junior physicians and healthcare staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, evaluate, and manage patients with gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, and liver disorders.
• Provide comprehensive consultations, develop treatment plans, and ensure appropriate follow-up care.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including gastroscopy and colonoscopy, within the scope of practice.
• Manage complex gastroenterology cases and coordinate care with other medical specialties when required.
• Ensure patient safety, confidentiality, and adherence to clinical guidelines and hospital policies.
• Monitor clinical outcomes, identify potential risks, and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records, clinical reports, and patient documentation.
• Communicate effectively with patients and their families, addressing concerns and explaining diagnoses and treatment options.
• Participate in clinical audits, peer reviews, departmental meetings, and continuing professional development activities.
• Support and guide junior physicians and other healthcare professionals as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Qualified and licensed Medical Practitioner.
• Minimum 3–5 years of post-qualification experience at Consultant level, irrespective of country.
• Minimum 1 year of Consultant-level experience in a Tier 1 country, as specified by the relevant UAE healthcare regulator.
• Basic Medical Degree and completion of a recognized higher education programme (Fellowship/Diploma) accepted by the relevant UAE healthcare authority.
• Speciality certification and registration in Gastroenterology, recognized by the relevant UAE healthcare authority.
• Active and valid life support certification, such as BLS, ACLS, or other relevant certifications, as applicable.
• Demonstrated experience in managing complex gastroenterology cases and performing relevant endoscopic procedures, within the scope of practice.
