Job summary

NMC Healthcare in the United Arab Emirates seeks an experienced Consultant Gastroenterologist to diagnose, treat, and manage gastrointestinal and liver disorders with high professional and ethical standards.

The role involves performing endoscopic procedures (gastroscopy and colonoscopy), ensuring care continuity, and contributing to quality improvement while mentoring junior staff and participating in CPD活动. The position requires UAE-recognized qualifications and active medical registration.

Qualifications

• Medical practitioner licensed and in good standing.
• 3–5 years post-qualification consultant-level experience.
• At least 1 year of consultant-level experience in a Tier 1 country as per UAE regulator.
• Active and valid life-support certifications (BLS, ACLS) as applicable.
• Experience in managing gastroenterology cases and performing endoscopic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, evaluate, and manage patients with gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, and liver disorders.
• Provide comprehensive consultations, develop treatment plans, and ensure appropriate follow-up care.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures (gastroscopy, colonoscopy) within scope of practice.
• Coordinate care with other medical specialties for complex cases.
• Ensure patient safety, confidentiality, and adherence to clinical guidelines and hospital policies.
• Monitor outcomes, identify risks, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Communicate diagnoses and treatment options clearly to patients and families.
• Participate in audits, peer reviews, and continuing professional development.
• Support and guide junior physicians and healthcare staff.

Education

Basic Medical Degree and higher education programme (Fellowship/Diploma) accepted by UAE healthcare authority
