Overview
The Frac Operations Coordinator is responsible for coordinating water sourcing, treatment, transfer, and civil works that support hydraulic fracturing operations. The role ensures safe and efficient site readiness by overseeing water pits, access roads, transfer pumps, and compliance with ADNOC standards, HSE requirements, and regulatory expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of frac water sourcing, treatment, transfer, storage, and field distribution across assigned operating areas.
- Plan and coordinate drilling and completion of shallow water wells to support hydraulic fracturing water requirements.
- Coordinate alternative water sourcing from deep wells, refinery treated water, seawater, and other approved sources.
- Supervise water H2S treatment operations to ensure treated water meets required KPIs, safety requirements, and frac volume targets.
- Supervise water recycling treatment activities and confirm recycled water meets approved specifications and quality KPIs.
- Oversee installation, operation, and field performance of electrical submersible pumps and transfer pumps.
- Manage fuel logistics for pumps and ensure pumping equipment operates within approved safe operating envelopes.
- Coordinate water transfer logistics from multiple sources to frac sites to maintain continuous supply.
- Work with vendors, production operations teams, technical teams, and other stakeholders to align water sourcing, sand sourcing, and material usage plans.
- Forecast water production schedules and ensure operational readiness for frac activities.
- Manage storage caravans for water equipment, treatment chemicals, spare items, and related field support materials.
- Coordinate with suppliers and security stakeholders, including CICPA and ADNOC Security, to ensure timely and secure delivery of proppant to frac sites.
- Supervise on‑site sand storage, handling, inventory control, and field usage to minimize downtime, waste, spillage, and operational delays.
- Monitor sand transfer systems such as conveyors and blowers to ensure reliable material movement and safe handling practices.
- Enforce safe sand handling methods and ensure field teams follow approved procedures during loading, transfer, storage, and usage.
- Oversee civil works for frac site preparation, including construction of frac sites, access roads, water pits, and supporting field infrastructure.
- Ensure civil works comply with engineering drawings, QA/QC standards, ADNOC specifications, approved method statements, and site requirements.
- Maintain access roads to support safe and timely movement of heavy equipment, frac spreads, pumps, chemicals, water equipment, and proppant loads.
- Supervise subcontractor performance against project schedule, field execution requirements, quality expectations, and safety standards.
- Plan, supervise, and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional and operational objectives.
- Train and develop assigned staff on frac water operations, sand handling, pump operation, logistics coordination, safety controls, and field readiness practices.
- Provide input for department or section budget preparation and support implementation of approved budgets and work plans.
- Investigate and highlight significant budget variances to support effective cost control and operational performance.
- Implement approved department and section policies, processes, systems, standards, and procedures in line with company and international standards.
- Comply with applicable legislation, legal regulations, ADNOC procedures, and approved field operating requirements.
- Contribute to approved performance objectives for the department or section in line with the company performance framework.
- Design and implement tools and techniques that improve operational process quality, site readiness, equipment utilization, and field efficiency.
- Identify internal process improvements using best practices and ISO‑aligned standards to address field execution challenges.
- Comply with HSE policies, procedures, controls, sustainability guidelines, international standards, best practices, and ADNOC Code of Practices.
- Participate in emergency response duties as a team member when required.
- Follow ADNOC HSE Recognition and Accountability Framework requirements and exercise STOP Work Authority when unsafe acts or conditions are identified.
- Provide accurate inputs for section MIS, progress reports, field readiness updates, water logistics reports, sand inventory updates, and management information.
Ideal Profile / Qualifications
- Technical Diploma or Degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in oil and gas field operations.
- Experience with electrical submersible pumps and transfer pumps.
- Practical knowledge of hydraulic fracturing support operations: water sourcing, treatment, transfer, frac site logistics, and field coordination.
- Experience supervising H2S water treatment, water recycling, pump operations, fuel logistics, and water quality KPI compliance.
- Strong understanding of proppant logistics, sand storage, sand handling, inventory control, transfer systems, and safe material movement.
- Experience coordinating civil works such as frac site construction, access roads, water pits, and field preparation.
- Ability to manage vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, production operations teams, technical teams, security stakeholders, and internal functions.
- Good understanding of QA/QC standards, engineering drawings, method statements, field execution plans, and ADNOC specifications.
- Knowledge of HSE procedures, emergency response expectations, STOP Work Authority, field safety controls, and sustainability requirements.
- Strong planning, organizing, scheduling, coordination, checking, recording, and reporting skills.
- Ability to work in a demanding field environment where safety, timing, logistics, equipment reliability, and operational continuity are critical.
