Role Overview
The Wellsite Completion Supervisor will manage daily execution of completion and stimulation activities at the wellsite. The supervisor will maintain well integrity, verify barrier compliance, manage simultaneous operations, lead contractor coordination, and provide accurate technical and cost reporting. The role also identifies service‑quality issues and supplies field feedback to improve future completion designs and operating standards.
Key Responsibilities
Hydraulic Fracturing Operations
- Supervise hydraulic fracturing activities from wireline perforation through stage pumping and completion.
- Verify that all operations comply with approved engineering programmes and execution procedures.
- Confirm that well barriers are correctly established, tested, and maintained.
- Monitor treating pressure, pumping rate, slurry rate, fluid volume, and sand concentration.
- Direct operational adjustments when required to preserve treatment design and well integrity.
- Review stage performance and identify abnormal pressure behaviour, restrictions, or communication concerns.
- Coordinate pumping, wireline, chemical, water, sand, and logistics service providers.
- Confirm treatment materials, equipment, and personnel are ready before each stage.
- Verify execution against the approved frac schedule and operating envelope.
- Record deviations and obtain appropriate technical approval before changing the programme.
- Maintain clear communication between field crews and Completions Engineering.
- Support post‑stage reviews and document relevant lessons learned.
Pre‑Fracturing and Toe Preparation
- Supervise pre‑fracturing intervention and toe‑preparation activities.
- Verify well status, barrier condition, and equipment readiness before work begins.
- Coordinate cleanout, circulation, pressure testing, and stimulation‑preparation activities.
- Ensure toe‑initiation procedures are completed according to approved requirements.
- Confirm wellhead, tree, pressure‑control, and surface equipment compatibility.
- Review operating parameters and contingency actions with all involved contractors.
- Identify conditions that may affect safe perforating or fracturing execution.

- Maintain well control and barrier integrity throughout wireline operations.

Frac Plug Milling and Wellbore Cleanout
- Oversee coiled tubing or jointed‑pipe milling of frac plugs.
- Confirm milling assemblies, motors, bits, fluids, and circulating systems are appropriate.
- Monitor weight, torque, pressure, circulation rate, returns, and milling progress.
- Verify complete removal of plugs and restrictions.
- Ensure debris is effectively circulated and removed from the wellbore.
- Monitor solids and returned material to confirm cleanout effectiveness.
- Coordinate corrective actions when milling performance is below expectation.
- Confirm wellbore readiness before flowback and well testing.
- Maintain complete records of plug locations, milling times, and operational issues.
- Support root cause investigations involving tool damage, stuck equipment, or incomplete cleanout.
Flowback and Well Testing
- Manage rig‑up, pressure testing, operation, and rig‑down of flowback and well‑testing equipment.
- Verify equipment ratings, connections, relief systems, and containment arrangements.
- Supervise controlled well opening and initial cleanup.
- Monitor pressure, temperature, fluid returns, gas rate, liquid rate, and sand production.
- Evaluate flowback performance and coordinate choke or operating adjustments.
- Ensure fluid and solids handling arrangements remain safe and effective.
- Confirm produced fluids and waste are stored, transported, and disposed of compliantly.
- Coordinate sampling, measurement, and data acquisition.
- Verify the accuracy and completeness of flowback and test data.

- Enforce ADNOC well integrity requirements throughout completion operations.
- Conduct inspections of wellhead, pressure‑control, and surface equipment.
- Verify valves, barriers, pressure gauges, and safety systems are functional.
- Monitor annulus pressures and investigate abnormal trends.
- Confirm pressure tests meet approved acceptance criteria.
- Lead the initial response to well‑control incidents.
- Apply IWCF Level 4 Well Intervention principles during operational decision‑making.
- Ensure suitable well‑control equipment and contingency resources are available.

- Verify tool strings, pressure‑control equipment, and operating procedures.
- Confirm slickline work is compatible with the well completion and wellhead configuration.
- Monitor operational progress and intervene when conditions deviate from plan.
- Coordinate technical support for difficult or unsuccessful slickline operations.
- Ensure accurate depth control and equipment status reporting.

Tree Conversion and Wellhead Activities
- Coordinate conversion from fracturing configuration to production‑tree configuration.

- Coordinate wellhead, slickline, pressure‑control, and production teams.

- Review hazards, simultaneous operations, contingencies, and emergency arrangements.

Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent technical discipline.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in completions, well intervention, or stimulation operations.
- Experience in unconventional well completion operations is preferred.
- Valid IWCF Level 4 Well Intervention certification.
- Strong hands‑on experience supervising hydraulic fracturing operations.
- Experience with wireline pump‑down perforating.
- Practical knowledge of coiled tubing or jointed‑pipe frac plug milling.
- Experience managing flowback and well‑testing activities.
- Strong understanding of well integrity, barrier management, and well‑control principles.
