Job summary

Mamo, a licensed payments platform for SMEs in the MENA region, seeks a Chief Financial Officer to own financial strategy and execution as it scales from an 8-digit revenue startup toward unicorn status across the Middle East. You will oversee regulatory compliance, fundraising, and capital allocation while partnering with the CEO on long-term planning.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in finance leadership
• Experience in fintech, payments or regulated financial services
• Demonstrable track record of raising capital
• Deep understanding of DFSA/CB UAE or equivalent regulatory environment
• Excellent negotiator
• Experience building finance functions from early-stage through scale
• Strong multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation and reporting
• Qualified accountant preferred
• Commercially driven with finance as a growth lever
• Interest in modernizing finance with AI developments

Responsibilities

• Own financial strategy across capital allocation and long-term planning
• Lead end-to-end fundraising with CEO and manage investor relations
• Deliver timely, accurate financial reporting to board, investors, and regulators
• Own regulatory obligations (DFSA, CBUAE) and ensure compliance
• Drive annual budgeting and hold the business to it
• Build and develop a high-performing, distributed finance team
• Manage relationships with auditors, banks, and partners like Visa
• Design scalable controls and processes for fast growth and audit readiness
• Oversee treasury management and FX across multi-entity operations
• Evaluate strategic transactions: partnerships, acquisitions, entry into new markets
• Drive commercial health: unit economics, monetization, and P&L discipline
