Job summary

Grand Mercure Dubai City invites applications for a Financial Controller to lead financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control across hotel operations in Dubai. The role collaborates with senior management to provide financial insight, while ensuring robust internal controls and UAE compliance.

The ideal candidate will have 5–7 years in a senior finance role within a hotel, strong Excel skills, and experience with hotel finance systems and VAT regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
• ACCA/CPA/CMA is an advantage.
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience as Financial Controller or senior Finance management in a hotel.
• Strong knowledge of hotel accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cost control.
• Proficiency in Excel and hotel finance systems.
• Good understanding of UAE financial regulations, VAT, tax requirements and accounting standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with the capacity to turn data into business insights.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills for senior management and department heads.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, departmental P&L, and monthly/quarterly/annual reports.
• Maintain accurate reporting across rooms, F&B, spa, events and other hotel operations per UAE accounting requirements.
• Manage budgeting and forecasting processes in alignment with hotel operations and business objectives.
• Prepare and assess revenue projections using occupancy, ADR and RevPAR metrics.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital and financial performance across revenue and cost centres.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization and improved operational efficiency.
• Maintain compliance with UAE VAT, auditing standards, labour provisions and hotel policies.
• Provide senior management with financial analysis and recommendations informed by operating performance and industry trends.
• Establish and maintain robust internal controls throughout the hotel.
• Supervise, guide and develop the Finance team.
