Job summary

The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the property, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective cost control, compliance with company policies and statutory requirements, and strong financial governance. The role supports the Director of Finance in budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and strategic decision-making while ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Finance Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the hotel and ensure accurate and timely accounting.
  • Supervise and support the Finance team, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements, management reports, and financial analysis.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, business plans, and financial projections.
  • Monitor revenues, expenses, payroll, cash flow, and operating costs to identify variances and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure effective cost control across all hotel departments, particularly Food & Beverage, Rooms, and operational departments.
  • Review accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, cash management, and bank reconciliations.
  • Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, supported, and reconciled.
  • Monitor internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and applicable UAE regulations.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors and provide the required financial documentation and information.
  • Conduct regular financial reviews with department heads and provide recommendations to improve profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure proper management and control of inventories, including stock counts, consumption analysis, and variance investigations.
  • Monitor purchasing and receiving processes to ensure proper financial controls are maintained.
  • Support the Director of Finance in financial planning, business analysis, and strategic decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement while maintaining operational standards.
  • Ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all financial information.
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Finance or management.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant finance/accounting experience, preferably within the hospitality industry.
  • Previous supervisory or managerial experience in a hotel or resort environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Good understanding of hotel financial operations and accounting systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
