Job summary

Yosh in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Commis 1 to prepare and cook Filipino dishes and other menu items to the hotel’s high standards. You will support the kitchen team, maintain an organized workstation, and help ensure food is ready for service according to menus and business needs.

Responsibilities include following recipes, preparing ingredients, and assisting with food prep for various service contexts while upholding safety, hygiene, and HACCP requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience in a professional kitchen or food preparation role is desirable.
• Knowledge of basic cooking methods and kitchen equipment.
• Understanding of food safety, hygiene, HACCP and allergen management.
• Ability to follow recipes, portion specifications and presentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook Filipino dishes and other menu items in accordance with recipes and directions from senior kitchen colleagues.
• Carry out food preparation tasks including washing, peeling, chopping, trimming, marinating, portioning, and measuring ingredients.
• Prepare ingredients and dishes featuring Filipino techniques and ingredients as per approved menu.
• Assist with food prep for restaurants, banqueting, room service, events and other kitchen needs.
• Follow portion guidelines and presentation standards to maintain consistency and reduce waste.
• Maintain cleanliness and order at workstation, tools, and surfaces.
