The Food and Beverage Supervisor oversees these elements during the shift while helping employees maintain established service and quality expectations. The role also acts as an operational link between employees and management, supporting workforce activities while identifying practical opportunities to improve productivity, quality, safety, and cost control.
Guest Service The supervisor maintains awareness of activity across the dining room and helps ensure guests receive attentive and timely service. Guests should be welcomed and acknowledged according to company standards, with their service needs anticipated and addressed appropriately. The role includes assisting individuals with disabilities and ensuring guests are thanked with genuine appreciation. Communication must remain clear, professional, and appropriate to a luxury hospitality environment.
Inventory and Storage Control The Food and Beverage Supervisor maintains visibility over supplies required for daily service. Scheduled inventories must be completed accurately, and necessary items should be requisitioned to support uninterrupted operations. Storage areas require regular inspection to confirm proper organization, cleanliness, and use of FIFO procedures.
Quality and Operational Improvement Maintaining established quality expectations is a continuous responsibility. The supervisor identifies and recommends improvements that can strengthen organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, or cost control. Tools, equipment, and machines should be visually inspected where required to identify defects or maintenance needs before they interfere with service.
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Related Work Experience: At least 2 years of related work experience.
Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
