Position Overview

The Engineer - Geotechnical - Site Supervision role in Dubai is responsible for overseeing geotechnical works during construction to ensure compliance with design intent, safety standards, and quality requirements. This position provides expert geotechnical input across excavation, foundation, piling, and ground improvement activities on complex, large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct and supervise geotechnical investigations including boreholes, test pits, sampling, and field and laboratory testing coordination
• Analyze soil, rock, groundwater, and geological data to develop engineering recommendations
• Prepare geotechnical reports, foundation design recommendations, and soil parameter evaluations
• Perform slope stability, settlement, bearing capacity, and earthworks analyses
• Review and approve geotechnical submittals, method statements, and material test results
• Recommend and assess ground improvement solutions including compaction, grouting, vibro‑compaction, soil stabilization, and dewatering
• Identify and mitigate geotechnical risks such as settlement, liquefaction, erosion, and collapsibility
• Monitor site activities related to excavation, piling, shoring, and foundation works
• Coordinate with civil, structural, and infrastructure teams to align designs with ground conditions
• Review piling systems including bored piles, driven piles, sheet piles, and micropiles
• Supervise geotechnical testing such as SPT, CPT, plate load, permeability, and related tests
• Review and monitor geotechnical instrumentation including piezometers, inclinometers, and settlement markers
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards, and UAE authority requirements
• Prepare technical memos, site reports, NCRs, and follow up on quality and corrective actions
• Support tendering, value engineering, and design review activities with geotechnical expertise

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering; Master's degree preferred
• Professional Engineering license or equivalent certification
• Minimum 10 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and site supervision
• Experience on large‑scale construction projects in the UAE or similar environments
• Microutunneling experience is required
• Strong knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and ground engineering practices
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant geotechnical software
• In‑depth knowledge of UAE regulations and international geotechnical standards
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, fast‑paced site environment
