The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and production machinery within a meat processing facility. The role ensures maximum equipment uptime, compliance with food safety standards, and adherence to health and safety regulations in a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on electrical equipment and production lines.
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults in processing, packaging, refrigeration, and utility equipment.
- Maintain and troubleshoot motors, drives, control panels, PLC systems, sensors, and instrumentation.
- Support production teams by ensuring minimal downtime and rapid response to equipment failures.
- Perform electrical inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Assist in the installation, modification, and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
- Maintain refrigeration and cold storage electrical systems used in meat processing operations.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with GMP, HACCP, food safety, and hygiene standards.
- Record maintenance activities, repairs, and spare parts usage accurately.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Ensure proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures are followed when performing maintenance activities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an Electrical Technician within an FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Mandatory experience in meat processing, poultry processing or food manufacturing facilities.
- Hands-on experience with PLCs, VFDs, HMI systems, electrical panels, sensors, and industrial automation.
- Experience working with packaging machines, conveyors, meat processing equipment, and refrigeration systems.
- Understanding of food safety standards, GMP, HACCP, and hygiene requirements.
