Job summary

Qualifications

  • Diploma or higher in electrical engineering with relevant local approvals.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required for progression to Engineer level.
  • Minimum 7 years of overall experience in electrical construction or related projects.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret contract documents, electrical drawings, technical specifications, approved submittals, and construction requirements.
  • Review relevant document revisions, site instructions, method statements, and health and safety procedures.
  • Inspect electrical works to confirm compliance with approved drawings, specifications, installation standards, and building codes.
  • Observe, measure, and test completed installations to verify quality and technical conformity.
  • Process incoming inspection requests and conduct inspections within assigned areas.
  • Monitor contractor performance and track the closure of inspection comments and outstanding corrective actions.
  • Verify electrical materials delivered to the site against approved material submittals and project specifications.
  • Report damaged, unapproved, incorrectly stored, or non‑conforming materials.
  • Maintain daily records of contractor manpower, equipment, resources, and work activities.
  • Document location, purpose, methods, personnel, and equipment associated with observed construction activities.
  • Carry out site supervision and inspections as instructed by the Resident Engineer or Assistant Resident Engineer.
  • Monitor installation processes for electrical containment, cabling, distribution systems, lighting, power, grounding, and related services.
  • Coordinate inspection activities with architectural, structural, mechanical, civil, and other building‑services teams.
  • Identify interface conflicts and communicate coordination concerns before they affect subsequent construction work.
  • Apply project quality‑control procedures and ensure inspection activities follow the approved quality plan.
  • Monitor quality assurance progress and maintain complete inspection documentation.
  • Follow up on site instructions issued by project leadership and verify their implementation.
  • Prepare site measurements, quantity checks, and surveying verification when requested.
  • Monitor compliance with performance requirements, construction tolerances, and applicable electrical codes.
  • Raise technical observations for defective, incomplete, or non‑conforming work.
  • Assist with non‑conformance reporting and verify that corrective work is completed satisfactorily.
  • Monitor the health and safety conditions of electrical construction activities.
  • Report unsafe practices, safety violations, and conditions that could place workers or completed installations at risk.

  • At least 5 years of construction supervision experience in the United Arab Emirates.
  • Previous inspection or supervision experience with an engineering consultancy is required.

  • Familiarity with electrical design fundamentals, technical drawings, specifications, and material schedules.
  • Experience with mixed‑use residential, commercial, retail, hospitality, or horizontal development projects.
