Role Context

The Inspector - Electrical Building Construction provides technical assurance for electrical works from early installation stages through final inspection and project closeout. The role requires continuous field verification of wiring, panels, circuits, grounding systems, protective devices, and associated electrical components. Accurate inspection and timely identification of deficiencies help prevent rework, reduce safety exposure, protect system reliability, and support compliant handover of completed building systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect electrical building works during rough-in, installation, trim-out, testing, and final completion stages.
• Verify electrical installations against approved drawings, project specifications, UAE electrical requirements, and applicable IEC standards.
• Examine wiring systems, distribution panels, circuits, grounding arrangements, protective devices, and related electrical components.
• Perform or witness electrical testing using suitable instruments and verify that results satisfy project acceptance criteria.
• Identify defective workmanship, code violations, incomplete installations, and other non-conformance conditions.
• Issue clear inspection observations and recommend appropriate corrective measures where electrical works do not meet required standards.
• Reinspect rectified works and confirm that deficiencies have been resolved before acceptance.
• Maintain complete inspection records, technical notes, photographic evidence, test documentation, and compliance files.
• Coordinate with electrical engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and construction teams to resolve technical issues efficiently.
• Monitor site activities for adherence to electrical safety procedures and broader construction safety requirements.
• Prepare structured inspection reports documenting findings, status, corrective actions, and outstanding concerns.
• Verify that installed systems reflect approved design intent and project-specific technical requirements.
• Support quality assurance and quality control processes by maintaining consistent inspection criteria across different work areas.
• Review relevant technical submissions, test records, and installation information as required during site inspections.
• Escalate significant electrical safety or compliance concerns promptly to the responsible project leadership.
• Keep current with changes to electrical codes, construction standards, and accepted industry practices applicable to building projects.

Ideal Profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical building construction inspection, site supervision, or a closely related field.
• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems used in commercial, residential, institutional, or major building projects.
• Practical understanding of UAE electrical codes and relevant international standards, including IEC requirements.
• Proven ability to inspect wiring, panels, circuits, grounding systems, and electrical safety devices.
• Familiarity with electrical testing procedures, inspection instruments, and acceptance criteria.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schedules, specifications, and technical documentation accurately.
• Strong understanding of construction QA/QC procedures and non-conformance management.
• Experience coordinating with contractors, engineers, and multidisciplinary site teams.
