Job summary

J10 Consulting is recruiting for a Global Project Supervision Consultancy in Abu Dhabi for Consultant Electrical Engineers to oversee high voltage/OHL and dry utilities. You will supervise design reviews, coordinate with contractors and other disciplines, and ensure QA/QC alignment.

Ideal candidates have 7–10 years in supervision or PMC roles, with OHL or dry utilities experience and TAQA approval being highly advantageous. Immediate joining for a 3-month contract is expected.

Qualifications

• BSc in Electrical Engineering.
• 7–10 years of experience in supervision or PMC consultancy.
• Experience with Overhead Lines (OHL) or Dry Utilities projects is mandatory.
• TAQA approval for OHL projects is advantageous.
• Strong design review and coordination within built environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Contractor/Sub-Contractors for sequencing of works.
• Review Contractor’s proposals for Electrical Installations with other disciplines.
• Provide advice on placement/routing of Electrical services to meet other disciplines.
• Coordinate design issues with senior Electrical Engineers and inspections.
• Periodic site inspections of electrical systems.
• Coordinate setting out/layouts of final fix electrical elements with Architect.
• Monitor progress and witness tests for commissioning.
• Prepare snagging lists and coordinate with main contractor & subcontractors.

Job description

Our Global Project Supervision Consultancy client has a new requirement for a number of well experienced Consultant Electrical Engineer to join their team in Abu Dhabi in a supervision consultant capacity overseeing high voltage / OHL / dry utilities works across the Emirate. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Consultant Electrical Engineer working on similar projects as a supervision consultant in the UAE performing design review and site coordination. Only candidates with a track record of working for recognised supervision consultants or PMC Companies will be considered. TAQA Approval for OHL projects is highly advantageous.This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 3 month contract position hire as an outsource, employed by J10 Consulting.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordination with Contractor / Sub-Contractors for accuracy and sequencing of works.
• Reviewing Contractor’s proposals for Electrical Installations in coordination with requirements for other disciplines.
• Providing advice on placement / routing of Electrical services to meet requirements from other disciplines.
• Coordinating Design issues with H.O. Electrical Engineers and coordinating Electrical Works Inspections with Electrical Inspectors.
• Periodic Site Inspections of Electrical Systems
• Coordinate setting out / layouts of Final Fix Electrical elements. with Architect.
• Monitor Progress of Works with respect to Contractor’s Programme, witness all prescribed tests for testing and commissioning of Systems.
• Schedule Snagging and de-snagging inspections and prepare snag lists as applicable.
• Attend weekly Progress Meeting, periodically attend weekly HSE and QA/QC Meetings and identify issues concerning safety and quality standards, attend and report coordination meetings with Main contractor & Sub-contractors.
• Review Contractor’s Electrical Shop Drawings for compliance with Contract Drawings / requirements, Statutory, Civil Defence and coordination with other disciplines.
• Review Material Submittals for compliance with Contract Specifications.
• Review Contractor’s Method Statements for compliance with Contract Specifications.
• Review of Contractor’s Interim Valuations.
• Monitor Issue of Site Observation Notes and NCRs as applicable.
• To check and verify As-Built drawings & O&M Manuals as applicable

Consultant Electrical Engineer Experience

• BSc Minimum in Electrical Engineering
• 7-10 years of experience with at least 2 in a recognised supervision or PMC consultancy company
• Experience of working on Overhead Lines (OHL) or Dry Utilities projects is mandatory, TAQA approval is highly advantageous.
• Strong experience reviewing design and submittals and coordination within the built environment.
• In-depth knowledge of local design standards and working experience with local authorities technical and legal requirements
• Strong communication, stakeholder and client management skills in a client facing role
