Job summary

J10 Consulting is seeking experienced Consultant Electrical Inspectors to join a project team in Abu Dhabi. The role covers high voltage/OHL and dry utilities supervision with a minimum of 5–7 years' relevant experience, including prior work for recognised supervision consultants or PMC firms.

TAQA approval is advantageous. The contract is initial for 3 months, with outsourced employment through J10 Consulting.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 5-7+ years of relevant experience, including 2 years in a recognised supervision consultant or PMC.
• Experience in inspections on OHL / Utilities and Infrastructure projects; TAQA approval advantageous.
• Strong written and oral communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications.

Responsibilities

• Attend Inspection Requests (IRs) submitted by the contractor and respond promptly.
• Review shop drawings against contract drawings, specs, codes and best practice.
• Report works not in accordance with approved drawings and specifications to stakeholders.
• Monitor site quality and safety, including health and environmental considerations.
• Maintain on-site records and daily activity logs for inspection.
• Prepare surveillance reports and NCRs as events develop.
• Ensure effective coordination between disciplines and resolve issues on site.

Job description

Our Global Project Supervision Consultancy client has a new requirement for a number of well experienced Consultant Electrical Inspectors to join their team in Abu Dhabi working on high voltage / OHL / dry utilities works across the Emirate. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Consultant Electrical Inspector working on similar projects in the UAE. Only candidates with a track record of working for recognised supervision consultants or PMC Companies will be considered. TAQA Approval for OHL projects is highly advantageous.This role is available for immediate joining and is for an initial 3 month fixed term contract as an outsourced employee through J10 Consulting.

Key Responsibilities

• Attending to Inspection Requests (IR's) submitted by the contractor and take appropriate action in a timely manner.
• Review submitted shop drawings against contract drawings and specifications, local codes and statutory requirements and international best practice.
• Report any works carried out by contractor found to not be in accordance with approved drawing and specifications and report to stakeholders for appropriate action.
• Monitor quality of works and assess the safety at site including health and environmental issues, ensuring compliance with contractual /
• QCS specifications and safety and health risk assessments.
• Maintain records for daily activities on site including progress photos and ensure they are readily available for inspection as and when required.
• Prepare surveillance report(s) for deficiencies of work found at site and non conformance reports (NCR) if required in view of the development of events.
• Check and ensure effective co-ordination between discipline related works and all other disciplines.
• Provide technical input and experiences to resolve any discipline related issues on site that may arise.

Electrical Inspector Experience

• Engineering degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 5-7+ years of relevant experience with a minimum of 2 in in a recognised supervision consultant or PMC company previously.
• Prior experience of Inspections on OHL / Utilities and Infrastructure projects is mandatory, TAQA approval is highly advantageous
• Good written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with project personnel and management.
• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and construction specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction related processes related to area of assignment
