Job summary

Hitachi Energy in the UAE seeks a proactive Emirati HSE Officer/Engineer to develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs across our operations. You will drive compliance, support risk management, and foster a strong safety culture on site.

The role requires 3–5 years in a high‑risk industry, UAE national status, NEBOSH IGC, and experience with ISO 14001/45001; you will lead audits, training, and incident investigations while coordinating with Project teams.

Qualifications

• Emirati national with degree/diploma in engineering/science and an HSE qualification.
• 3–5 years in a high‑risk industry, preferably substation EPC projects.
• Professional certifications such as NEBOSH IGC.
• Experience in ISO 14001 and 45001 certified environments.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and training delivery experience.
• Valid UAE driving license and ability to operate in field environments.

Responsibilities

• Advise project teams on health and safety requirements and standards for site activities.
• Maintain Project HSE plans and emergency preparedness plans.
• Conduct HSE drills (fire, environmental, rescue) and routine site inspections.
• Lead HSE meetings and Life Saving Rules assessments.
• Review risk assessments, method statements, and subcontractor HSE plans.
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions; report HSE statistics.
