Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Dubai seeks a proactive Emirati HSE Advisor/Engineer to develop and maintain comprehensive EHS programs across operations. You will drive compliance, risk management, and safety culture with Centre of Expertise support and strong site leadership.

You will advise project teams on health and safety requirements, conduct drills, audits, and life-saving rule assessments, and ensure documentation and reporting meet corporate and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience as an HSE Advisor in a high‑risk industry.
• UAE National with a degree/diploma in Mech/Chemical/Civil/Environmental Engineering/Electrical/Science with HSE qualification.
• Professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH IGC).
• Experience in a client‑facing role is highly regarded.
• Knowledge of relevant Codes of Practice is essential.
• Experience engaging stakeholders across disciplines in the HSE program.
• Experience implementing ISO 14001 and 45001 certified systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Project HSE Plan – review and update where required.
• Maintain Project Emergency Preparedness Plan.
• Conduct HSE drills – Fire/Environmental/Rescue.
• Assist Project Manager with HSE Meetings.
• Conduct Life Saving Rules assessment as determined by Project HSE Plan.
• Conduct routine HSE inspections of the project site.
• Conduct periodic audit of Hitachi Energy’s HSE Operating System.
• Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
• Review Subcontractor HSE Plans.
• Investigate all incidents.
• Implement corrective actions from incidents.
• Prepare and report HSE statistics – hours/training/incidents.
• Implement HSE Operating Systems in the project.
