Job summary

Hitachi Energy seeks a proactive Emirati HSE professional to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive HSE programs across project operations in the UAE. You will drive compliance, risk management, and continuous improvement while fostering a strong safety culture.

You will advise project teams on health and safety requirements, conduct inspections and audits, and coordinate with the Centre of Expertise to ensure alignment with company standards. A NEBOSH IGC and ISO knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience as an HSE Advisor in a high-risk industry.
• UAE national with Degree/Diploma in Mech/Chemical/Civil/Environmental Engineering/Electrical/Science with HSE qualification.
• Professional certifications (e.g., NEBOSH IGC).
• Experience in a client-facing role is highly regarded.
• Knowledge of Codes of Practice is essential.
• Communication, presentation and training delivery experience.
• Experience engaging stakeholders across disciplines in HSE programs.
• Experience implementing ISO 14001/45001 certified programs.
• Ability to inspect and evaluate workplace environments for compliance.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and SharePoint; report writing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Project HSE Plan and update as required.
• Maintain Project Emergency Preparedness Plan.
• Conduct HSE drills (Fire/Environmental/Rescue).
• Assist Project Manager with HSE Meetings.
• Conduct Life Saving Rules assessment per HSE Plan.
• Conduct routine HSE inspections of the project site.
• Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
• Review Subcontractor HSE Plans.
• Investigate all incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare and report HSE statistics (hours/training/incidents).
• Implement HSE Operating Systems in the project.
