Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Utilities Inspector to supervise and inspect the construction of dry utility networks in Dubai, including HV/LV cables, street lighting, and telecom, ensuring compliance with drawings and authority standards (RTA, DEWA, Etisalat, Du, DM).

The role requires reviewing methods, trench work, and coordination between dry and wet utilities, maintaining records, and coordinating inspections with local authorities for approvals and NCR closure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• 7–12 years of experience in Utilities engineering.
• Masters is preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and inspect the construction of dry utility networks (HV/LV cables, street lighting, telecom, ITS).
• Review excavation, duct laying, backfilling, cable pulling, jointing, termination and chamber installation works.
• Inspect trench preparation and protection layers; coordinate between dry and wet utilities to avoid clashes.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements and as-builts; monitor safety and quality control.
• Witness and verify inspection requests and conduct tests (continuity, insulation resistance, functional testing).
• Coordinate with local authorities (RTA, DEWA, Etisalat, Du, Civil Defense, DM) for inspections and approvals; close NCRs.
• Maintain inspection records, review daily progress, and participate in coordination meetings.
• Verify trench reinstatement, surface finishing, and utility protection; ensure documentation for handover.
