Job summary

Egisgroup in Dubai seeks a Senior Resident Engineer to lead on-site engineering activities for large-scale high-rise projects. You will coordinate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders, review construction methodologies, and manage safety and quality on site.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, 20+ years total experience with 10+ years in senior roles, and a PE license or equivalent; PMP preferred. Arabic knowledge a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 20 years total experience including 10 years as Resident/Senior Resident Engineer in high-rise projects.
• PE license preferred or equivalent.
• Contract management and oversight skills is a must.
• PMI PMP certification preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of construction methodologies, quality control processes, and safety regulations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong project management skills with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
• In-depth understanding of the construction industry and local building codes in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
• Familiarity with UAE construction standards and practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities, with experience in managing and mentoring teams.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing project requirements.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site engineering activities, per project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain timelines.
• Review and approve construction methodologies, work plans, and submittals.
• Conduct site inspections and quality control checks to ensure compliance with design specs and local codes.
• Manage and mentor junior engineers and technical staff on-site.
• Prepare and present detailed progress reports, identifying risks and mitigation strategies.
• Liaise with local authorities to obtain permits and approvals.
• Implement and maintain robust safety protocols on-site.
• Analyze and optimize construction processes to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
