Job summary

Egis in Dubai is seeking a Senior Resident Engineer to oversee on-site engineering for a large-scale construction project. You will lead site teams, ensure compliance with design specs, and coordinate with project managers, contractors, and authorities.

The role requires a civil engineering degree, 15+ years in resident engineering, PE license preferred, PMP is a plus, and strong knowledge of UAE codes. English fluency is essential; Arabic a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of experience as Resident Engineer/Senior Resident Engineer, with a focus on large-scale projects; total 20+ years.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred or any equivalent.
• Project/contract management and oversight skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all on-site engineering activities, ensuring adherence to project specs, quality standards, and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain project timelines.
• Review and approve construction methodologies, work plans, and technical submittals.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks to ensure compliance with design specs and local building codes.
• Manage and mentor junior engineers and on-site staff.
• Prepare and present detailed progress reports, identifying risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
• Liaise with local authorities to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
• Implement and maintain robust safety protocols for a safe working environment.
• Analyze and optimize construction processes to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Resident Engineer to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a key member of our building construction management team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of on-site engineering activities for large-scale construction project.

What do we need from you

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 15 years of experience as Resident Engineer/Senior Resident Engineer, with a focus on large-scale projects. Minimum total years of experience is 20 years.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred or any equivalent.
• Contract management and oversight practiciing skillsis a must.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of construction methodologies, quality control processes, and safety regulations
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar design software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong project management skills with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget
• In-depth understanding of the construction industry and local building codes in Dubai, UAE
• Familiarity with UAE construction standards and practices
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
• Strong leadership and communication abilities, with experience in managing and mentoring teams
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing project requirements
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus
