Job summary

OBE SHIPS MANAGEMENT CO. LLC in Dubai is seeking a Senior Operations Manager for the Dry Bulk fleet to oversee post-fixture operations from fixture through voyage completion.

The role requires hands-on management, voyage planning, cost control and effective coordination with Masters, Charterers, Owners, agents, surveyors and P&I clubs. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of dry bulk vessel operations, strong knowledge of laytime/demurrage, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years hands-on dry bulk vessel operations experience.
• Strong knowledge of Charter Parties, post-fixture operations, laytime and demurrage.
• Good understanding of dry bulk cargoes, stowage, ports, bunkering and vessel documentation.
• Strong commercial awareness and cost-control mindset.
• Experience with claims and P&I matters is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple vessels and voyages simultaneously.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Strong Excel/MS Office skills; Veson IMOS and Shipfix experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Voyage planning, cargo intake, bunker planning and port considerations.
• Issuing voyage instructions and coordinating with Masters, Charterers, Owners, agents, brokers and surveyors.
• Monitoring vessel schedules, cargo readiness, port congestion, berthing and weather.
• Coordinating loading/discharging operations and reviewing stowage plans.
• Monitoring speed, consumption, bunkers and overall voyage performance.
• Controlling voyage expenses and disbursements.
• Handling Bills of Lading, NORs, SOFs, BDNs and other operational documentation.
• Laytime/demurrage calculations, freight/hire statements and voyage accounts.
• Handling operational claims, Charter Party disputes and performance matters.
• Coordinating with P&I Clubs, insurers and surveyors when required.
• Following up outstanding freight, hire, demurrage and other receivables.
