Bureau Veritas | Marine & Offshore in Abu Dhabi invites a Diving Representative to oversee offshore diving operations, ensuring ADNOC/IMCA standards are met and that all divers are properly qualified.

This permanent, on-site role reports to the Team Leader/Project Manager, requires IMCA Ticket and 10 years exp, UAE driving license, and site safety training.

You will review CVs, inspect diving spreads, maintain records, and participate in emergency planning.

Qualifications

  • IMCA Supervisor Ticket with 10+ years as diving supervisor in offshore projects.
  • HSE certification such as NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH or similar.
  • Minimum 3-year university diploma.

Responsibilities

  • Review diving CVs and evaluate the diving team based on project requirements and ADNOC/IMCA standards.
  • Inspect the diving spread to assure compliance with ADNOC/IMCA standards.
  • Ensure diving operations are carried out from a safe location with proper permits.
  • Personally verify that all personnel in the dive team are qualified and physically able to perform tasks.
  • Assess the physical condition of divers prior to each dive.

Minimum Required Qualifications

ESSENTIAL Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing the diving CVs and evaluating the diving team based on the project requirements and ADNOC/IMICA standards.
  • Inspect the diving spread to assure compliance with ADNOC/IMICA standard.
  • Ensure diving operations are carried out from a suitable and safe location on the surface, and in compliance with any permit to work.
  • Personally verify that all personnel in the dive team are qualified and physically able to perform tasks assigned.
  • assess the physical condition of the divers prior to each dive to determine if any physical impairment is present which would be detrimental to their health and safety in the water or under hyperbaric conditions.
Ensure That The Diving Equipment Designated For Use Is:
  • Suitable for the planned diving operation.
  • Inspected prior to each dive and in good working order.
  • Ensure that all operating instructions, manuals, decompression tables, treatment schedules and regulatory publications are available at the dive location and are maintained to reflect current changes and/or developments.
  • Maintain and submit reports required by ADNOC regulations concerning diving operation and equipment maintenance, testing or repair.
  • Submit all records and reports required by ADNOC to the appropriate offices within the company.
  • Follow up the development and implementation of emergency/contingency procedures.
  • Follow up the planning and detailed briefing of the diving team and support personnel.
  • Critique the dive with the dive team upon completion and instruct the contractor as to improvements in procedures and routines for future dives.
  • Reporting all accidents or incidents involving personnel or equipment in accordance with reporting procedures Incident and Accident Reporting and Investigation Section as per ADNOC HSE standard.
  • Ensure the Conducting of job hazard reviews and toolbox meetings with all members of diving team prior to commencing diving activity.
