Key duties include planning routes for a mixed fleet, validating orders, updating dispatch software, maintaining driver contact, coordinating with yard staff, and handling delivery issues.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of dispatching/logistics experience in construction or related industry.
• High school diploma or equivalent; logistics certificate is a plus.
• Proficiency with dispatching software and GPS tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and assign daily delivery routes for a fleet of trucks to ensure efficiency and on-time arrivals.
• Receive incoming delivery requests, verify inventory availability, and enter load details into dispatch software.
• Maintain constant driver contact to track status, communicate route changes, and troubleshoot issues.
• Coordinate with forklift operators and yard staff to ensure safe loading and delivery sequence.
• Provide customers with delivery windows, updates, and professional resolution to complaints.
• Verify driver logs, delivery receipts, and ensure compliance with DOT regulations.

Concrete Block Dispatch Clerk is responsible for the efficient scheduling, routing, and dispatching of delivery trucks carrying concrete blocks and masonry supplies. You will serve as the primary link between customers, sales representatives, yard workers, and commercial drivers. Your core goal is to maximize fleet efficiency while ensuring on-time, safe deliveries to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Dispatch & Routing: Plan, schedule, and assign daily delivery routes for a fleet of flatbed, boom, and moffett trucks to ensure maximum fuel efficiency and on‑time arrivals.
• Order Processing: Receive incoming delivery requests from sales teams or customers, verify inventory availability, and enter precise load details into the dispatch software.
• Driver Communication: Maintain constant radio or phone contact with drivers to track delivery status, communicate route changes, and troubleshoot on‑site delivery issues.
• Yard Coordination: Coordinate closely with forklift operators and yard staff to ensure trucks are loaded accurately and safely according to weight limits and delivery sequence.
• Customer Service: Provide customers with accurate delivery windows, proactive delays updates, and professional resolutions to delivery complaints.
• Documentation & Compliance: Verify driver logs, delivery receipts, bill of ladings (BOLs), and ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Skills

• Experience: 1–3 years of experience in dispatching, logistics, or routing, preferably within the construction, building materials, or ready‑mix concrete industry.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; certificate in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
• Tech Skills: Proficiency with dispatching software (e.g., Command Alkon, Trimble, or similar fleet management systems) and GPS tracking tools.
• Skills: Excellent geographical knowledge of the local delivery area, strong problem‑solving abilities, and the capacity to handle high‑stress situations.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Primarily based in a fast‑paced office or yard‑shack environment.
• Must be able to sit or stand for long periods while using computers and communication radios.
• Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, and dust when visiting the production yard.
