Job summary

Nova International General Contracting is seeking a Design Manager - Structural in Abu Dhabi to lead structural design coordination for high-end projects. You will ensure compliance with local authority requirements, international codes, and project specs, while guiding design consultants and construction teams.

The ideal candidate has a strong design consultancy background, 15+ years of structural engineering, and proven UAE project experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil / Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 15 years of experience as a Structural Engineer in a design consultancy.
• Proven UAE/Abu Dhabi project experience.
• Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design for concrete and steel.
• Familiarity with UAE construction practices and authority approvals.
• Ability to work with contractors, PMC, and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review structural design deliverables including calculations, drawings, and technical reports.
• Coordinate with design consultants, PMC, and client representatives on structural engineering matters.
• Review IFC drawings, shop drawings, and method statements for structural works.
• Ensure compliance with Abu Dhabi DMT/ADM requirements, Estidama, and Civil Defence regulations.
• Apply international codes and standards such as ACI, BS, Eurocodes, and ASTM as applicable.
• Provide technical support to site teams and resolve structural design and construction issues.
• Review and respond to RFIs, technical queries, and design clarifications.
• Participate in design coordination and value engineering exercises.
• Support authority submissions and approvals related to structural works.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.
