Job summary

IMKAN Properties is seeking an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer to act as the discipline focal point on the Client’s side for large-scale developments in Abu Dhabi. The role oversees design reviews, coordination with consultants and contractors, and ensures compliance with codes, standards, budget, and programme across the full project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Extensive experience in civil and structural engineering across multiple project types and scales.
• Strong knowledge of international codes and standards such as ACI, CSA, Eurocode, and local regulations (e.g., Abu Dhabi codes).
• Proven experience working on multidisciplinary projects across the full lifecycle (Concept Design, Feasibility, Schematic Design, FEED, Detailed Design, EPC, PMC).
• Experience in multinational environments and diverse geographies is highly desirable.
• Strong analytical, coordination, and decision‑making skills.
• Proficiency in reviewing BIM models and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Civil/Structural discipline lead representing the Client on major and confidential projects.
• Review and approve civil and structural design deliverables, drawings, and BIM models from concept design through tender stage.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements, international codes, corporate standards, and regulatory guidelines.
• Provide technical leadership in resolving engineering challenges, including value engineering and optimization of design solutions.
• Prepare contract documentation and review/evaluate technical aspects of construction tenders.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and smooth project execution.
• Monitor quality, cost, and schedule performance from a structural and civil engineering perspective.
• Identify project priorities and risks from both Client and Contractor viewpoints to support timely decision-making.
• Support projects across various sectors including infrastructure, residential, industrial, oil & gas, and non-process buildings.

The candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders throughout the full project lifecycle, from design and procurement through construction and handover.
