Job summary

LITCO Industries is seeking a Design Engineer with experience in structural steel, steel fabrication, and metal works. You will be responsible for structural design, engineering calculations, and review of drawings, coordinating with fabrication and production teams to ensure designs are practical for manufacturing and installation.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and at least 2 years of relevant experience.

LITCO Industries is looking for a Design Engineer with experience in structural steel, steel fabrication, and metal works. The candidate will be responsible for structural design, engineering calculations, preparation and review of drawings, and coordination with fabrication and production teams to ensure designs are practical, accurate, and suitable for manufacturing and installation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare structural designs and engineering calculations for steel structures and metal works.
• Develop and review GA drawings, fabrication drawings, shop drawings, and erection drawings.
• Design structural steel members including beams, columns, bracing, trusses, platforms, stairs, canopies, and other steel components.
• Perform structural analysis and verify member sizes, connections, loads, stability, and deflection.
• Prepare and review steel connection details, base plates, anchor bolts, bolted and welded connections.
• Coordinate with the BIM, detailing, fabrication, production, and QA/QC teams.
• Review architectural, structural, and client drawings and identify technical requirements or discrepancies.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable project specifications, standards, and engineering codes.
• Assist in preparing material take-offs (MTO), BOQ, and quantity calculations.
• Review fabrication drawings before releasing them for production.
• Provide technical solutions to fabrication and site-related design issues.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal departments when required.
• Ensure designs are practical for fabrication, transportation, and site erection.
• Support engineering revisions, variations, and design changes.
• Maintain proper documentation of calculations, drawings, revisions, and technical submissions.

Desired Candidate Profile

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in structural steel design or steel fabrication.
• Strong experience in steel structures and metal works.
• Practical understanding of fabrication and erection processes.
• Experience in UAE or GCC projects is an advantage.
• Candidates currently available in the UAE are preferred.
• Immediate joiners are preferred.
