Job summary

Aggreko is seeking a Yard Lead in Abu Dhabi to oversee and coordinate all daily yard activities, ensuring maximum equipment availability and adherence to company policies.

The role requires at least five years in power generation or related fields, with strong mechanical/electrical knowledge and travel readiness. A valid UAE driving license is preferred; depot-based with site visits. Aggreko emphasizes development and safety across the team.

Qualifications

• Higher Education qualification in Mechanical/Electrical or equivalent qualifications.
• Minimum five years of experience in Power generation or related fields.
• Extensive knowledge in mechanical or electrical field (or both).
• Willingness to travel as required.
• Valid local driving license as per business needs.
• Depot-based role but requires frequent site visits.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate daily yard activities to maximize equipment availability.
• Ensure all service documentation aligns with Aggreko procedures.
• Manage yard technicians, CDH inventory, and fleet availability with cross-team collaboration.
• Provide technical support to clients and internal teams as needed.
• Conduct regular equipment inspections and staff training to maintain readiness to hire.
• Uphold Aggreko QHSE policies and drive operational excellence.

Detailed description:

To ensure that yard operations are run in accordance with company policies and procedures with regards to personnel equipment QHSE and customer relations.

What youll do:

• Minimize equipment that is under repair and awaiting inspection ensuring maximum availability at all times adhering to predetermined regional target. Sustain Global Service Centre Standards (GSCS) within Depot at all times.
• Ensure all service related documentation is completed inline with Aggreko procedures and process maps. Identify common repeat failures on equipment to prevent reoccurrence using available data and resources and communicate to Area Service Manager where unable to resolve.
• Management of Yard based technicians to ensure servicing and repairs are carried out on time and to the highest quality. Management of CDH inventory to minimise damages or losses. Management of fleet availability and working with other teams to support MENA fleet availability.
• Provide technical support to clients and internal teams where applicable. Proactively manage manpower planning to ensure maximum productivity is achieved with the resources available.
• Conduct regular inspections of equipment within the yard to ensure they are stored effectively and Ready to Hire. Conduct induction performance appraisal development and training of direct reports.
• Displays a commitment to Operational Excellence activities. Aggreko places a strong emphasis on Quality Health Safety and Environmental protection. It is a requirement and moral obligation of each employee to be actively committed and accountable for compliance to the Aggreko Health Safety & Environmental policies procedures and local legislation and ensure completion and validity of all minimum QHSE training and objectives required by the company.
• Any other duties considered related essential for effective operations and service as requested

Youll have the following skills and experience:

• Higher Education qualification in Mechanical/Electrical or equivalent qualifications
• Minimum Five years of experience in Power generation or other related fields
• Has extensive knowledge and experience in mechanical or electrical field or both
• Availability to travel as and when required
• Possession of valid local Driving License as per the need of the business
• Depot based job but requires frequent visits to the sites

Desired Skills

• Effective communication skills. Fluent command of English language spoken and written
• Experience in Service Mobility ERP System is desired. Effective planning organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to empathize and understand perspectives of others. Good Keyboard skills and Computer literate
• To be able to communicate effectively with customers when required. High level of commitment and loyalty
• Quality oriented with attention to details and capable of working to deadlines. Capable of working on his/her own initiative
• Able to work long hours in demanding conditions
