Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook dishes delegated as your responsibility by the Chef in charge
• Take tasks and requests from the Chef in charge and carry them out in correct manner
• Ensure that specification of portion size and quantity of particular dish has been followed, as set out in the recipe index
• Complete the daily check list received by the Chef in charge regarding mise-en-place and food storage
• Report any failure of kitchen equipment, and follow up to ensure the necessary maintenance work has been carried out
• Keep section clean and tidy at all times, and make sure all items are labelled with dates
• Help to prevent waste of food and over-production to mise-en-place, and keep food order from store or supplies to a minimum
