Job summary

HSBC International Wealth and Premier Banking seeks an ambitious UAE National to join the team in Al Ain as Debt Counselling Advisor. You will deliver a professional service assisting customers in financial difficulty to regain stability.

Responsibilities include contacting customers, minimizing losses, assessing affordability, and guiding options within policy, with escalation to legal action when required. Excellent English and collections experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Fluent English communication required.
• Collections experience mandatory.
• Proficient in writing business letters and reports.
• Excellent email and telephone communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and numerical data interpretation abilities.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing environments.
• MS Office proficiency, including Excel and Access.
• Graduation degree is required for UAE visa or work permit.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for minimizing losses to the bank by collecting overdue debts and protecting both customers' and the bank's interests.
• Understand customer circumstances and their affordability position, exploring options to help them regain financial stability.
• Manage a portfolio of live, current, and overdue debtor accounts through inbound/outbound calls and other channels.
• Provide treatments based on customer circumstances and escalate cases for legal action when necessary.
• Own performance against business objectives and develop professionally.
• Conduct progress reviews on performance and development plans and provide feedback to senior management.
• Suggest enhancements to policies and procedures for better customer journeys.
• Represent leadership values and set a performance example for others.
