Job summary

LT-Larsen & Toubro in the UAE seeks a Design Lead (Electrical DC) to review and execute engineering activities for solar PV plants, including generation estimates, plant layout, DC SLD, module selection and inverter sizing. The role supports BIM 3D modeling and coordinates with Civil, Instrumentation and MEP teams from pre-bid to commissioning and warranty.

You will provide tender inputs, ensure on-time deliveries, review drawings and vendor documents, plan man-hours and support site execution

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical & Electronics Engineering
• 10–12 years in design of Solar PV Power Plants / Power Distribution

Responsibilities

• Provide technical inputs to tendering team
• Timely Delivery of Engineering Drawings & Documents
• Ensure deliveries are aligned to Project Schedule
• Review drawings by Design Engineers & Draughts Persons. Checking of design & sizing calculations of engineering electrical equipment and obtaining approvals from the client
• Review of Vendor deliverables pertaining to Engineering
• Capable of Multitasking and deliver multiple things on time
• Estimate and Plan man-hour requirements
• Review BOQ and submit to contracts team and providing technical clarifications
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines for ensuring inter-departmental checks
• Provide support & clarifications to the Site Execution team
• Check pre-award evaluation of vendors and forward the validation document to Supply Chain Management
• Inspect equipment from the finalized vendor after submission of validation document
• Clarify issues w.r.t. the design & requirements of the client to the Site Execution Team
• Collect inputs for project details from client & Project Engineering Manager
• Coordinating with Operations team and informing Design specifications for obtaining approval
• Collect inputs for project details from Vendors
• Check deliverables such as Cable Routing Layout, Cable Tray Layout, Earthing Layout & Lightning Protection Layout
• Provide support to Electrical AC, Civil /Structural for reviewing Vendor drawings
• Submit requirement of man-hours for undertaking & reviewing of design & drawings of the project
