Job summary

Forsyth Barnes in Abu Dhabi seeks a software engineer for a non-traditional SWE role. You’ll work in small teams with minimal supervision, write production code, and attend client workshops, documenting processes and translating actuary/pensions workflows into a shipped product.

You’ll embed with business teams to understand end-to-end workflows, own delivery from scoping to live running, and leverage AI toolchains such as Claude Code and OpenAI Codex to accelerate solutions.

Qualifications

• Engineering background, preferably Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, or Data Science.
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience with Python, C++, Java, or TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Proven ability to combine skills with AI toolchains to build production systems.

Responsibilities

• Embed with business teams to understand end-to-end workflows across all business areas.
• Own end-to-end delivery: scope, build, test with data, and deploy to live running.
• Use AI tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, and AI-enabled IDEs to deliver solutions rapidly.
• Build bespoke integrations, data pipelines, and user-facing tools.
• Feed learnings back into the core product and influence the roadmap.
