Job summary

The ideal candidate has at least five years in a senior culinary role in a large hotel or restaurant, strong leadership, excellent cooking technique knowledge, and sharp organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience as an Executive Chef or Sous Chef in a large hotel or restaurant kitchen setting
• Excellent knowledge of cooking techniques/methods and menu planning
• Ability to lead, motivate and train kitchen staff
• Outstanding organizational skills with great attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Plan menus in accordance with the restaurant's budget and expectations of guests
• Train, coach, motivate and manage kitchen staff
• Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes and garnishing techniques to ensure quality standards are met
• Monitor stock levels, order supplies when necessary
• Create attractive plate presentations while maintaining a safe working environment
• Ensure all dishes meet hygiene regulations
• Assist in menu planning by suggesting new recipes or improving existing recipes
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends to create innovative dishes
