Cost Manager - Post-Contract, Construction Budget

Job summary

JLL is seeking a seasoned Cost Manager to lead post-contract commercial management across multiple construction projects in Dubai. You will ensure projects stay within budget, manage valuations, variations, and final accounts, and advise on financial risk through contract performance analysis.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in Quantity Surveying or related field, plus RICS membership and at least 7 years post-qualification experience, especially in hospitality projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related field.
• Professional membership with RICS or equivalent professional body.
• Minimum 7 years post-qualification experience with significant post-contract exposure ideally in hospitality projects.
• Comprehensive knowledge of standard forms of construction contracts.
• Experience in managing complex variations and claims.
• Strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the post-contract commercial management of multiple construction projects ensuring they are delivered within budget.
• Prepare and manage interim valuations, variations, and final accounts.
• Analyze and negotiate contractual claims, providing recommendations to minimize financial risk.
• Perform detailed cost analysis and reporting, tracking project costs against budgets.
• Administer construction contracts in accordance with applicable standards (JCT, NEC, FIDIC, etc.).
• Liaise with clients, contractors and project stakeholders to resolve commercial issues.
• Provide commercial advice to project teams and senior management.
• Mentor and support junior quantity surveyors.
• Identify and implement value engineering opportunities.
• Maintain accurate records of all commercial transactions and correspondence.
