This opportunity is suited to detail-oriented professionals with a strong understanding of workshop administration, repair job costing and automotive service processes. As a Cost Clerk, you will support Retail Aftersales operations by reviewing, verifying and processing completed workshop job cards. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that labour hours, consumables, oils, paint, materials and subcontracted services are accurately recorded, costed and allocated to the correct repair codes. The position requires strong numerical accuracy, analytical thinking and the ability to work efficiently with workshop teams and administrative systems. Accurate job costing is essential to maintaining reliable invoicing, controlling outstanding repair work and supporting workshop revenue management.

Key Responsibilities

• Workshop Job Card Processing
  • Review, verify, cost and process completed automotive workshop job cards on a daily basis.
  • Check that all repair activities, labour charges and associated materials are accurately recorded before processing.
  • Verify labour hours and repair times to ensure correct claims and allocation against completed repair work.
  • Confirm that job codes, repair incidents and related repair codes are correctly assigned.
  • Identify incomplete or inaccurate job cards and return them to the relevant teams with clear explanations of the corrections required.
• Job Costing and Invoicing
  • Ensure labour, consumables, oils, paint, materials and sublet items are correctly captured for invoicing.
  • Verify the accuracy of costing information to support complete and reliable workshop billing.
  • Help minimize lost productive hours through accurate labour allocation and timely processing.
  • Support the correct recording of workshop charges and associated repair costs.
  • Follow established Aftersales procedures to maintain consistency and accuracy in job costing.
• Work in Progress Monitoring
  • Monitor outstanding repairs and uncosted job cards to identify items requiring follow-up.
  • Review Work in Progress records to ensure completed repairs are processed and costed.
  • Escalate outstanding or unresolved costing matters to the appropriate team members.
