The Consultant Physician – Interventional Neuroradiology will play a key role in diagnosing and treating complex neurological and vascular conditions using advanced imaging and minimally invasive endovascular techniques. The role requires precise procedural skill, rapid emergency response capability, strong diagnostic interpretation, and close coordination with neurology, neurosurgery, emergency medicine, ICU, radiology, anesthesia, and stroke teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex neuro‑interventional procedures for neurological, vascular, and spine‑related conditions using modern endovascular and image‑guided techniques.
- Treat intracranial aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, vascular malformations, and other neurovascular disorders according to clinical indication and international standards.
- Perform mechanical thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke cases, supporting rapid decision‑making and emergency stroke intervention pathways.
- Carry out carotid and intracranial stenting procedures, spinal vascular interventions, angiographic assessments, and related minimally invasive treatments.
- Interpret advanced neuroimaging studies including CT, MRI, CT angiography, MR angiography, catheter angiography, and other diagnostic imaging modalities.
- Provide accurate diagnostic reports and clinical recommendations to support timely treatment planning.
- Collaborate closely with neurologists, neurosurgeons, radiologists, intensivists, emergency physicians, anesthesiologists, and allied healthcare professionals.
- Participate in emergency neuro‑interventional procedures for acute stroke, trauma, hemorrhage, and other urgent neurological presentations.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary case discussions, stroke meetings, vascular boards, neuroscience planning, and complex patient reviews.
- Ensure safe pre‑procedure assessment, informed consent, intra‑procedure monitoring, post‑procedure follow‑up, and complication management.
- Maintain accurate procedural reports, imaging documentation, clinical notes, treatment plans, and follow‑up recommendations.
- Support teaching, mentoring, and clinical guidance for junior doctors, radiology trainees, residents, fellows, and allied health staff.
- Engage in clinical research, audits, quality improvement initiatives, and evidence‑based practice to strengthen neuro‑interventional outcomes.
- Follow DHA licensing expectations, hospital policies, patient safety standards, infection control requirements, and international clinical guidelines.
Ideal Profile
- Medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Fellowship or subspecialty training in Interventional Neuroradiology.
- Board certification or equivalent qualification in Radiology, Neuroradiology, or a relevant recognized specialty pathway.
- Eligibility for Dubai Health Authority Consultant License.
- Proven expertise in neuro‑interventional procedures and advanced neuroimaging interpretation.
- Strong experience in endovascular treatment of aneurysms, AVMs, acute ischemic stroke, carotid stenting, intracranial stenting, and spinal vascular interventions.
- Skilled in CT, MRI, angiography, vascular imaging, and diagnostic neuroradiology reporting.
- Ability to respond effectively to emergency stroke and trauma‑related neuro‑interventional cases.
