Overview

Consultant – Interventional Neuroradiology in Dubai provides specialist diagnostic and therapeutic care for patients with neurological and vascular conditions requiring advanced imaging and endovascular treatment. The role combines high‑level imaging interpretation, minimally invasive procedural skill, rapid emergency response, and multidisciplinary decision‑making for acute and complex cases.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform advanced neuro‑interventional procedures, including endovascular aneurysm treatment, arteriovenous malformation embolization, mechanical thrombectomy for acute ischemic stroke, carotid stenting, intracranial stenting, and spinal vascular interventions.
• Interpret advanced neuroimaging studies (CT, MRI, angiography, and related vascular imaging) and provide accurate diagnostic opinions and procedural recommendations.
• Participate in emergency neuro‑interventional procedures for acute stroke, trauma‑related vascular injury, and time‑sensitive neurovascular cases.
• Collaborate closely with neurologists, neurosurgeons, radiologists, emergency physicians, intensivists, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other specialists to support integrated patient care.
• Assess patients with complex neurovascular disorders and develop individualized treatment plans based on imaging findings, clinical presentation, procedural risk, and multidisciplinary input.
• Provide pre‑procedure counselling, informed consent discussions, procedural risk explanation, and post‑procedure follow‑up for patients and families.
• Support acute stroke pathways through rapid imaging review, treatment decision‑making, thrombectomy readiness, and coordination with emergency and critical care teams.
• Maintain accurate procedural records, imaging reports, consultation notes, consent documentation, and follow‑up plans in line with DHA requirements and hospital policies.
• Contribute to clinical teaching, mentoring of junior doctors, radiology trainees, and multidisciplinary clinical staff.
• Participate in clinical research, audit, morbidity and mortality reviews, quality improvement, and continuing medical education activities.
• Ensure all neuro‑interventional services follow evidence‑based practice, patient safety standards, infection control protocols, and international clinical guidelines.

Ideal Profile

• Medical degree with fellowship or subspecialty training in Interventional Neuroradiology.
• Board certification or equivalent qualification in Radiology, Neuroradiology, or a related recognized specialty.
• Eligibility for Dubai Health Authority Consultant licensure.
• Proven expertise in neuro‑interventional procedures, acute stroke intervention, aneurysm treatment, AVM management, carotid and intracranial stenting, and advanced imaging interpretation.
• Experience working in a hospital setting with emergency stroke pathways, multidisciplinary neurovascular care, and high‑acuity procedural services.
• Strong leadership, communication, procedural judgment, and teamwork skills.
• Fluency in English is required; Arabic or other language skills are an advantage.
