The Consultant Pediatric Plastic Surgeon will provide comprehensive surgical care for children whose conditions may affect appearance, movement, growth, function, or long-term development. Cases may involve congenital anomalies, facial deformities, hand abnormalities, burns, traumatic injuries, scarring, or complex tissue loss requiring staged reconstruction. Because pediatric reconstruction often extends across several years, the consultant will help plan treatment around growth, development, rehabilitation, and future surgical needs. Close collaboration with craniofacial surgeons, neurosurgeons, ENT specialists, orthopedic surgeons, dermatologists, rehabilitation professionals, anesthesiologists, and pediatric teams will be central to achieving safe and durable outcomes.
The successful candidate will hold an MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized by DOH Abu Dhabi together with Board Certification or Fellowship training in Plastic Surgery and substantial subspecialty experience in Pediatric Plastic Surgery. A valid DOH Consultant License or appropriate Eligibility Letter in Plastic Surgery is required. Applicants should bring at least 5-7 years of post-board consultant experience in pediatric plastic and reconstructive surgery gained within a tertiary-care, specialist children's, or academic hospital. Strong practical expertise in cleft surgery, craniofacial reconstruction, pediatric hand surgery, burn reconstruction, scar revision, soft tissue reconstruction, and complex pediatric trauma is expected. Experience in established cleft and craniofacial programs, pediatric microsurgery, multidisciplinary reconstruction, academic medicine, clinical research, or surgical teaching will strengthen suitability for this position.
This Abu Dhabi opportunity offers an experienced pediatric plastic surgeon access to a broad and technically demanding reconstructive caseload involving congenital anomalies, cleft conditions, hand abnormalities, burns, trauma, craniofacial deformities, and complex soft tissue reconstruction. The position provides strong professional depth through multidisciplinary pediatric practice, advanced surgical techniques, rehabilitation coordination, teaching, research, and continued clinical development. Working within a specialist children's healthcare environment also gives the consultant the opportunity to influence long-term functional and developmental outcomes for young patients requiring highly specialized reconstruction.
