We are seeking an experienced Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon with dedicated specialty training or fellowship experience in Cleft Lip & Palate and Craniofacial Surgery to join our multidisciplinary team in Abu Dhabi.
Provide consultant-level assessment and surgical management of patients with cleft lip and palate. Perform and manage surgical procedures related to:Cleft lip repair Cleft palate repair Secondary cleft procedures Alveolar bone grafting Cleft-related maxillofacial reconstruction Management of associated craniofacial anomalies Assess patients preoperatively and develop individualized surgical treatment plans. Provide postoperative care and monitor surgical outcomes and complications. Participate in multidisciplinary cleft and craniofacial clinics. Collaborate closely with Plastic Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, ENT, Orthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, Speech & Language Therapy, Audiology, Genetics and other relevant specialties. Participate in long-term multidisciplinary care and follow-up of cleft patients. Contribute to clinical protocols, quality improvement and patient-safety initiatives. Participate in teaching, training and supervision of residents and junior physicians. Contribute to clinical research, audits and service development. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and comply with UAE healthcare regulations and hospital policies.
Medical degree from a recognized medical school. Completed recognized postgraduate training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Recognized Board Certification/Specialist or Consultant qualification in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Dedicated fellowship, advanced training or significant formal specialty experience in Cleft Lip & Palate / Craniofacial Surgery is required or highly desirable. Valid Department of Health (DoH) Abu Dhabi Consultant license/eligibility in the appropriate specialty.
Significant post-specialist experience as a Consultant/Specialist Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon. Demonstrated experience managing patients with cleft lip and palate. Independent experience in cleft lip and/or palate surgical procedures. Experience working within a multidisciplinary cleft/craniofacial team. Experience managing pediatric and adolescent cleft patients is highly desirable.
Fellowship training in Cleft & Craniofacial Surgery. Experience in complex or secondary cleft reconstruction. Experience with alveolar bone grafting and maxillofacial reconstruction. Experience in craniofacial anomalies and syndromic cleft conditions. Academic, teaching, research or quality-improvement experience is an advantage.
Advanced surgical expertise in cleft and craniofacial conditions. Strong pediatric and multidisciplinary clinical skills. Excellent surgical judgment and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary cleft team. Strong communication with patients and families. Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered care.
The ideal candidate will be a DoH Abu Dhabi-licensed/eligible Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon with dedicated fellowship or advanced training in Cleft Lip & Palate/Craniofacial Surgery, with substantial experience managing cleft patients within a multidisciplinary service.
